BUY IT RN ! These headphones changed how I listen to music!

Listen, I am a huge music lover but I thought spending money on a pair of headphones when I already had my AirPods would not be worth it but HONEY WHAT these sound good for the price. I’m so surprised. At first, my first day with these… I was like meh… what’s so amazing? But then my second day came around and I was like wait a minute, I have these on 24/7! They are so much smaller when not on my head and these are super light too. I have not had a problem with me losing any hair due to getting stuck on the metal part. these are very comfortable too. I’ve always had issues with other headphones hurting my ears because I listen to music/podcasts/YouTube for 8-9 hours straight quite often. I did noticed after the first week my ears hurt a bit but then I adjusted the headphones and made sure they were not so tight so they got comfortable again. Basically these are so worth it. I love the style and how it looks as well, I feel like an anime character and a cool one with these.

So cute!!!!

They're unbelievably cute and give me the exact vintage feel I was looking for. The audio gets really loud, but the audio leakage is astronomical—which I was aware of going into the purchase. They're nice and compact and come with a bag to keep them in. If you're looking to use them for your phone, you will need to purchase an adapter, unless you have a headphone jack. They're also extremely comfortable and I could wear my glasses with these without interference from either. I recommend if you don't care about the audio leakage, because even at the volume where it doesn't leak, it's still quite loud.

Great Sound > Price

Sound: These are best sounding headphones you'll buy for under thirty bucks. They will make you appreciate music more and make you want to listen to albums you listened to for years but you'll listen to them again because you want to hear that difference. All the sounds come out crystal clear and the bass is thumping but not annoying. You can blast them to high heaven and not hear any pops. I made everyone try it and listen to it at work. One of the guys that works with me, also interns at a music studio, he thought it was hilarious that these can produce such a great sound.Build: The build is great. I carry them around to work, to school, and I haven't any issues other then little wear and tear on the speaker cushions. I pulled on the wires very hard, many times, and dropped them quite a few times; So no problems breaking. They're really comfy because there's padded cushioning around the temples and they can adjust to that big melon of a head. You can fold them up into a travel mode which makes the headphones sit in the palm of your hands, which is a great reason to switch over to these then the traditional in the ear headphones.Gripe: It will catch your hair sometimes but if it does you can just fix it by pulling your hair out them slowly and readjusting the headphones. People complain that it doesn't cancel out the sound in the background but it sorta does. If you have them at a fairly high setting you can't hear people talking but if there is a loud noise like an engine or other load noises you might hear it. One complaint is that I kinda wished they folded flat in my pockets because they bulge out a little.Sum it up:You be stupid not to own these headphones.

We should have kept this design! Beyond cool.

Crisp and clean, unlike earbuds that rest right on your damn your eardrum and not like those over the ear noise cancellation things where your ears are all sweating and it gets messy. These are perfect. Good seller. Extremely fast service! Crisp out of the box. The sound depends on what player your running it thru. I have a cheap mp3. I hear a lot of what going on around me it's a 50/50

Cool headphones. Lightweight, you don't feel them on your head. The sound is soft, relaxing, and calm. Very pleasant. Awesome headphones.

Pro Sound is amazing!

I’ve had a pair back in Earlyy 1990’s and I loved them. I am using them, again, with the new all black modern take on the same form factor that makes these headsets from Koss one of the very most comfortable headsets every with extraordinary sound quality. This headset came with a vinyl carry pouch, that I feel is inadequate for these. If you buy these, get a hardshell case. You will want to protect these as you will love this set. I really enjoy mine and for many reasons. They are do light and compact.Very easy to fold and store away for travel. The sounds quality is stunning for a set this size. They fold very easy and are durable. My set lasted me for over 11 years before they borrowed and never returned.I’ve invested in another set and after doing an incredible about of research I find this set is very responsive in sound range.I can wear the Koss headset for hours without fatigue because of the temple cushion pressure displacement to provide extra comfort for you head and ears. Both ear pads cover you ears nicely and the headset is easy to adjust.I would recommend this.

The best value in a lightweight headphone. Make 'em even better!

I've had PortaPros since the early 90s, a few years after they came out. I flew with them around the world until noise-canceling headphones became a thing, and still use them for nighttime listening and other purposes. It's a perfect vintage audio design you can buy new today, and incredibly at 1980s prices! Given the rate of inflation they should cost many times more. The sound quality is the best I've ever heard in a lighweight on-ear design. I had a four decade career in the stereo industry and heard a lot-- from the first Sennheiser lightweights in the early 70s on. Koss hit it right with this unique design. I do forget I am wearing them. But here's the thing: spring for another 12 bucks and refit them with Yaxi pads. They sound even better (slightly improved bass), and since the pads have a slightly larger diameter they become even more comfortable (more s). urface area for weight distribution. When I picked up this second, new pair of PortaPros (top) I listened first with the black foam factory Koss pads, then installed the blue Yaxi pads in the photo, and the difference was apparent. That's my old pair on the bottom with the orange Yaxi pads

Best headphones by price/quality

I'm a big fan of Koss headphones, started to use them aproximately from 2010s.This is The Best headphones you can buy under $100 in my opinion.Strongly recomend to use with YAXI pads, maker a sound ballanced with wider soundstage.Standart cable is also not good, better to replace for anothet with more AWG or use Utility versoin.Sound: Very musicality, and punchy. Well ballanced for Black/Death Metal and similar genres. From the box + Yaxi they have a lack in subass and dip in 4-4,5k range. But very well responce for EQ.Strongly recomend to use with external DAC/Amp (Wired or Bluetooth)

The headset I've been searching for forever ♪

I took the chance and bought these because I'm tired of gaming headsets. They're too bulky/heavy, they hurt my ears, they're overrated and expensive. I could go on and on. I was looking for something light weight that would really pack a punch sound wise, but wouldn't be so noise cancelling that I can't hear my surroundings. When I came across these I was skeptical. I loved the design but saw many reviews with them being broken. Though, I think I'll just account that to people having heavier hands than me, because I treat my things pretty well. That being said, this headset is powerful and I'm so impressed and so surprised about how well these things hold up. It's everything I was looking for. I can wear them for hours and my ears don't ache. The sound quality is amazing. Listening to music is a fun experience. They're noise cancelling for when the music is loud, but if you listen to music on a low setting, it's good for ambient tunes in the background. And I can carry a conversation on call or in person without having to worry that I'm being too loud. Gaming is good too!!I ordered a clear set for my chromebook to chill in bed with, excited to get that one in and test it out!Even if I do somehow end up snapping these one day or they just give out randomly, I'll be ordering more from them from now on. My go-to brand. You guys are literally the best. Thank you Koss! ♥️

Minimalist Design For Music On The Go

Light Weight And Easily PortableSound is fine. I use them with a practice guitar amplifier at my desk. They do not appear to be as sturdy as I thought they'd be. The cord is short and needs an extension cable to comfortably play guitar with amplifier. Not a problem if you are listening to portable music.Retired Engineer

Pretty solid!

I was skeptical about how these would feel/sound when I purchased them. I needed a lightweight pair of headphones for soundboard monitor use when just needed to do a quick sound check without turning my whole monitoring system on.I've used these on a '90s Kenwood amp system at home with a quarter jack adapter, my laptop, the soundboard they were purchased for, and I can't get enough of them! Are they cheaply made? Yes. Do they let everyone around you hear what you're listening to? Sure do! But the sound overall for an over-the-ear headset is pretty dang good! Punchy with some hints of bass, they work perfectly for general use and listening. They won't sound as good as a pair of Samsung buds or Beats but still kick pretty well.If you have glasses, these are awesome as well just due to the foam supports keeping the physical headphones off of your temples and your upper ear.Overall, a pretty good set of headphones for the price. I 100% recommend getting a better set of earmuffs at the same time. I bought a larger orange set and they made the wearing experience a whole lot better compared to the very small black set the headphones come with. If you plan to travel with these things, get a hard case of some sort because they will get destroyed in a bulky or filled backpack.UPDATE: I have been using them for a month or two now, and I can still say, they are keeping up! I use them while working in my room on homework and such and sometimes I forget they are on because of how light they are! Which is great, because it keeps me from having fatigue or pain on my head from wearing them for extended periods. Besides that, they're still going strong!

Cheap, but Beautiful Sound

I will start this by saying I’m not an audiophile (I have/had ath m50x, beats solos, AirPods, and other basic audio products). After browsing the webs, this seemed like an excellent place to start. If you don’t wanna read this whole review (tl;dr) : these are worth every penny.Comfort: 3.5/5 initially, these felt weird. They aren’t cozy by any means like other headphones due to the metal headband and being on-ear. They’re insanely light, so it can feel like they aren’t there after a while (a good thing). The on-ear aspect really is a love or hate thing. They do make it so ur ears will not feel hot, so that is a plus.Note: The comfort becomes a 4 with Yaxi pads. They’re larger and softer than stock pads.Quality: 2/5 there had to be a sacrifice somewhere. The build is garbage. Let’s be honest: you can’t have it all at this price range. I appreciate the retro look of these, but there are issues:- headband is a thin metal that can tear ur hair out (use tape)- the “comfort zone” driver casing is very cheap plastic and feels flimsy- the cable is similar to that of $8 earbuds u buy from a pharmacy store.Sound: 4.5/5 (for price, 7/5)Man, oh mannnnnn. This is where it hits you. Youll say, “oh. That’s why people say to get these.”Sonically, these can sound better than headphones in the 100+ dollar range.Vs AirPods: They’re better than AirPods for sound. Not going to compare features bc no duh AirPods win, but sound wise, they’re better in every way.Vs Beats Solos: I have the cheap solos, so it’s not the new pros, but these are better sounding. More clarity and soundstage, maybe not as much bass (barely).Vs ATH M50x: this is where the fun begins.Detail: Almost as good detail as the m50x, but I actually enjoyed these more for listening to more neutral music vs the m50x (not saying much, since m50s are very V shaped).Soundstage: The soundstage may be even better than my m50x with the Yaxis on. They WILL leak sound, though, so if you can’t afford that, m50x is better.Bass: It doesn’t rattle your soul, but it isn’t weak either. M50x beats it in this category, which I’m not surprised by. The drivers are so much smaller.Noise isolation: These do not isolate noise. They’re on-ear, so that isn’t surprising. If you need noise cancellation, these aren’t the way to go.Conclusion:Get these!! Try em out. I got em for $20 so it wasn’t a huge investment, and I’ve heard they get this cheap pretty often. There’s a reason Koss still makes these. They’re light, look cool, and sound amazing for their price.P.S. GET YAXI PADS. They add soundstage and comfortability as well as style to these headphones. I grabbed yellow for an extra retro vibe, but there’s a bunch of colors to choose from.I grabbed a E10K off of eBay, so I might update to see how that affects the sound as well!

Great sound, iconic design, and excellent value

These are a classic for a reason. They have a retro, super cool look that hasn’t really changed in decades, and they’re incredibly lightweight and portable. These are easy to throw in a bag and comfortable enough to wear for long listening sessions without fatigue.Sound quality is where they really shine for the price. They have a warm, fun tuning with surprisingly full bass for an open on-ear design. The low end has good body without overwhelming the rest of the mix, mids are smooth and natural (especially vocals), and the treble is relaxed and non-fatiguing. They sound open and lively rather than thin or flat, which makes them easy to enjoy across different genres.Build quality is simple but effective. They don’t feel premium, but they’re light, flexible, and clearly designed with comfort and sound as the priority rather than flashy materials.Out of the box, comfort is decent, but these headphones are also very easy to customize. I added aftermarket pads to make them even more comfortable and to personalize them a bit, which made a good thing even better. For the price, these punch well above their weight. Great sound, iconic design, and excellent value — it’s easy to see why they’re still so popular.

Beautiful sound

IMHO, these are simply the best headphones you can get at a price point that makes them seem free as soon as you listen to them. I'm a musician with a small home studio and I use over-the-ear AT phones for recording and mixing. These headphones are inadequate for studio purposes given their design but they are at least (sound-wise) as good as my ATH M50Xs. The PORTAPRO delivers clear sound across the frequencies. Additionally, these headphones present a well-defined, fairly broad stage which is impressive given the size of these phones. The photo shows my headphones fitted with a YAXI ear pad specifically designed for the PORTAPRO with a stock ear pad. Worth the investment I think. In short - these headphones out-performed all my expectations. They produce a quality listening experience that many much pricier phones don't achieve.

Great Headpones, but I recommend the Koss KPH40!

I enjoyed these Headphones! For those of you who have trouble with it pulling your hair, my remedy was to wrap painters tape (blue to match the highlights on the headphones) around the middle section of the headband. It also keeps the headband the perfect length so I didn't have to constantly adjust it every time I took it off. This DOES make it less portable for pocket carry, but I never used that anyway. The temple pads were giving me migraines so I ripped them off. Then I replaced the foam earpads with the YAXI ones. Now everything is great.---MY HUNT FOR THE BEST BUDGET HEAPHONES:(I use my headphones for 80's Rock, 90's Alternative, Oldies, Classical, and plenty of TV and Movies)-SHORT VERSION...BUY THE KOSS KPH40'S AND SOME YAXI PADS!LONG VERSION...FIRST I HAD THE PX-100-i's for like 10 years. Loved them, but the connector broke a few years back. THEN I got the PX-100-ii's. I didn't like it as much as the first iteration. Way too much Bass! And the bass bled like crazy. They sounded super muddy. But everything else sounded like my old px-100's. Then a few months ago, THOSE broke at the connector (I'm nice to my headphones, they get plugged into my computer and stay there, there's really no reason for those connectors to go faulty, just bad manufacturing). Then I found out that Sennheiser was no longer making ANY PX-100's anymore, so I had some research to do...NEXT WERE THE KOSS PORTAPROShttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00001P4ZH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1-The sound is 'soft' for the mids and uppers, and a slightly boomy bass. Very easy-listening. The bass was a little too boomy for my taste, but it wasn't bad. The high's weren't sibilant, which I loved. I missed some clarity from my px-100's, but it was worth it. What I didn't like about it was that the bass bled into the mids, which made some things sound weird. Still, I liked them better than my original sennheiser PX-100-i's which is saying something. The PX-100-i's have highs that are harsh on my ears, too much sibilance. The Bass on the PX-100-i's can be a little to boomy also, but no bleeding. It had an accurate, clear sound I loved. But overall I considered the Portapro's a nice upgrade.KOSS KPH30ihttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FBRYM1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1-But, I didn't like the bleeding bass of the Portapro's, so I kept hunting. I tried the Koss KPH30i's next. VERY nice. I consider them better than the Portapro's. Slightly more clarity in the highs and the bass didn't bleed. The high's were only a little more powerful than the Portapro's, pretty much had the same 'soft' sound quality I liked in the Portapro's. The bass was a little underwhelming. I could tell where the bass was meant to be, which was nice, but it wasn't boomy at all. Like HEARING the bass, but not FEELING it. At first I really appreciated that, especially for classical, but after a few days I kind of missed the bass punch of the Portapro's. The biggest problem with the KPH30i's were they were uncomfortable! The earpads are huge and they press on my ears hard. Its not just the compression strength causing it, its the flat earcups that press against the entire ear. I could only wear it for 10 min before taking them off. So I tried the Grado Ear Pad mod, put it around the earcups and it was MUCH better. Warning, do NOT remove the original foam of the headphones. They tear and you cant get them back on. I made that mistake and now my KPH30i's high's hurt my ears because there is nothing between my ear and the driver. I wished I would have kept the original foam on, and THEN put the Grado pads over them. Instead I had to use the paper towel mod and now the high's don't hurt my ears. The hole in the pad still make a tunnel effect and I feel like that creates a pressure chamber that hurts my ears over time. I DO love the silicone resting band on this set. With that and the Grado pads, these became a lot more comfy, but I still would have to take them off after a couple hours, from my ears over-heating and the firm pressure on the ears. That combined with the lack of bass punch, I decided to keep looking.KOSS KPH40https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KZC94X1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1-I had heard that the KPH40 was the sound 'sweet spot' between Portapro's and KPH30i's, and they were right! These are currently my favorite headphones, even more than my less-than-budget-friendly Sennheiser HD599's (see below). The KPH40's are my Goldilocks Headphones. The KPH40's sound profile are a LITTLE more V-shape than the Portapro's and the KPH30i's. A little more bass than the KPH30i's and a little more high's than the Portapro's. Perfect. The bass is just right, and very accurate. The mids are there, but not overpowering. The high's are clear but still have that 'soft', 'easy-listening' sound I enjoy from the Koss drivers. Honestly I don't think a lot of people will hear a difference between the 3 Koss headphones I ...
