This is a replacement of an older OXO salad spinner that recently met the end of its life after I purchased it 14 years ago. This new salad spinner appears to be of the same quality so I am hopeful it will last just as long! It has a smoother operation than my previous one. I especially like the locking feature of this new spinner so that I can store this in the refrigerator while taking up less space than it’s predecessor and allowing me to stack items on top of it. As shown in my video, that yellow foam piece is not required to lock the the lid down in place for storage. I am very satisfied with this purchase and look forward to years of good use!

I am pretty impressed with the new one! Usually the older kitchen tools are made better, so this was a nice surprise. I left a video highlighting a couple of differences I am really happy with.

Update: the manufacturer contacted me back and said they couldn’t send me the replacement for the broken price, so they sent a replacement salad bowl. This one has been going strong for 3 months so far.Original review:At $30, it was a bit pricey but it had great reviews so I decided to get it. It was great, until it wasn’t. I got maybe a dozen uses out of it bc I heard a rattling noise and the insert fell out. It looks like a drill bit that secured the insert is broken and so I need a replacement for the entire spinner top.Maybe it was a fluke and just a defect but it’s frustrating that it fell apart so quickly.I contacted their product support- but I’m waiting for a response. I’ll update my review if/when they fix it.

Unexpectedly small than I expected.

I updated my review because when I called oxo they replaced my spinner without a hassle . Very good customer service . The cleaning of the top part that DOES GET WET and eventually MOLDY is insanely difficult. The spinner works well to clean the lettuce or whatever but if you cannot clean the spinner properly without damaging the producr, then what good is it?

This is a good salad spinner. It's a nice compact size but still holds a good amount of lettuce. The turner works well and dispels a good amount of water. The design is solid, and it's good quality for the money.

This product will keep you salad drier, meaning it will last much longer. It also makes it easy to wash your salad and store it right in the spinner bowl! It looks sleek and encourages me to eat more healthy salad because it makes preparation so easy!I originally bought the small size, but I found myself wishing I had bought the larger size. The small size was large enough to fit enough lettuce for a large salad, but I wished I had bought something that can fit all my lettuce in for a week of safe keeping. My mother really liked the small salad spinner and was raving about it, so I decided to gift the small spinner to her and buy myself a large spinner. The large spinner is exactly like the small, except it can fit 2-3 times as much salad. I generally will buy 1 large head of romaine lettuce, cut it all up, and put it in the spinner basket. Then I'll thoroughly rinse the freshly cut lettuce in the spinner basket in the sink. The basket is a colander, so it is perfectly designed to wash and rinse your salad right in the basket. Then I put the basket with my clean lettuce into the spinner and spin away! As easy as a couple downward presses on the top button. The salad effortlessly spins at high speeds, forcing all the water to the outer edges and down into the empty reservoir bowl for catching the excess water. The spinner stays easily in place because the bottom has a no-slip liner around the edges. Also, wet salad means fast-rotting salad. The drier you can make your salad, the longer it will last. I find that salad will last over a week when I store it in this spinner. The spinner also has a nifty little button that you press to "brake" the spinning action so you can slow down the basket. Then all you have to do is pour out the excess water in the bottom of the bowl. The lettuce stays dry because it is suspended in the basket. Now I just put it back together and throw it in the fridge for all the lettuce I need for the week!If you're looking for a salad spinner, this is the best one in existence. Well worth the money - especially if it means developing healthier habits!

Overall this is a very good salad spinner. Be warned in advance, the small variant is only large enough for 1-2 salads worth of greens. I was more concerned about shelf space, so I'm happy to spin several batches, but for those concerned only with time saved, the larger version may suit your needs. I've included a photo with a normal 12-oz soda can to provide a size reference.The push mechanism (instead of a spinning handle) is convenient for storage, as it makes the overall footprint of the spinner smaller. It is also a better solution for those with grip issues (arthritis, for example), as the spinning mechanism is very easy to push down. You will get a good rotation speed, certainly enough to force most water off your produce, but it isn't as fast as the handle designs.While the spinner looks very good for an inexpensive kitchen gadget, there are a couple design "flaws" I would have liked to see fixed. First, the base is solid hard plastic. This results in very little traction between the spinner and your counter. Since most times your lettuce will not be perfectly balanced in the spinner, the smooth base doesn't dampen the spinner's wobble when in use. The rest of the spinner is completely smooth as well, so with wet hands there are not good places to grip and stabilize the spinner during use.These are minor complaints, and I would still recommend the spinner to anyone, especially those with grip-strength issues.Pros:- Clear plastic makes it easy to know when water is removed from produce- Large push button for spinner is easier to use than rotating handle for those with aging joints or grip-limiting injuries- Small size takes up less space in the cabinets- Lightweight, but doesn't feel cheap or fragile when in use- Quiet operationCons:- Base is slippery on smooth counter tops- No texture on spinner makes it harder to stabilize with wet hands- Doesn't make lettuce taste as good as steak

I was ready for a new salad spinner after 10 years and I wanted something that was glass instead of plastic and this one is absolutely beautiful it works really really well it's a little heavy so if you are not able to lift heavier things I would say definitely this might not be the one for you but if you can have your items and you are interested in this salad Center I definitely say get it it's absolutely beautiful it can be used not just as how it's better but as an actual Bowl and it's really really great

First time user of a salad spinner, and think I'll be eating more salads!Previously I gave up on rinsing my romaine, as invariably I'd end up with soggy lettuce, even after letting the washed product sit in a colander for an extended period. Seeing as how I know that not washing produce prior to consumption is not recommended, I invested in a salad spinner.This spinner is a breeze (and fun!) to use, and found that it removes enough of the water that the end product is crisp lettuce. Clean up is easy (I exclusively hand wash items like this). The large bowl is a nice feature, though lost on me, as I will not store, nor serve, my salad in/from plastic (I've been transitioning to glass for food storage).It's larger than what I need (single guy that makes one salad at a time - equivalent to a "standard" salad serving for two), but it actually ended up costing LESS than the smaller version, and it fits well enough in my cabinet, so the larger-than-necessary size is a non-issue.

Product is great. The deliver was unacceptable. I’m handicapped and provided instructions to leave near front door. Was left near garage door.

It works as it should. It’s sturdy, durable, & aesthetically pleasing.My only complaint is a personal preference. I am not a fan of having to move everything around to create a hole in the center for the lid. Had I known this, I would have gotten a different one. I like being able to put my lettuce, spinach, berries, etc in the bowl, put the lid on, & spin. But with this specific salad spinner, you must create the hole in the middle or the lid doesn’t fit/close or you crush your veggies.

Expected perfection from oxo as usual and it’s pretty good but there are some concerns hence the 4 stars only.Pros:-on the smaller size, not tiny but perfect for 1-2 people.-Sturdy material, good quality- like the stopper function- like the lock in the spinner tool flat optionCons:Mostly mold concerns:If I put the entire thing in the dishwasher I could see water getting in through those small holes in the spinner part. Not sure how that would dry out…Also, the top locks hermetically so after taking it from the dishwasher I would have to make sure to leave a space open so it does not lock in and the few drops of water create mold.FYI- PICTs also show my old beloved cuisinart green salad spinner I am replacing after 10 yrs since I was not able to glue the handle back that broke off

I love this salad spinner! I am replacing my old one of the same model which lasted many, many years. It works perfectly and spins the water out of my greens. We eat a lot of salad, so it gets quite a bit of use. It works for small and large salads. I highly recommend it!

I have been eating a lot of blueberries (smoothies), grapes, lettuce, etc. for the past several months, but have been rinsing only small amounts as I need them. I purchased this (large glass) salad spinner to help me prepare entire 32oz/2lb bunches of grapes, an entire head of lettuce, etc. to semi food prep en masse for the week.I had usually rinsed my grapes under a metal colander, then loosely lined them up on the terry side of a clean cotton dish towel, in the middle (photo). Then I fold over approx. a third of the towel to cover some of the grapes, fold the other third over that, completely covering the grapes, then gently roll with hands in a similar motion to using a rolling pin. This completely dries the grapes. I was a disappointed that using the spinner only resulted in a mere 3/4 tablespoon of water (photo), and it didn't come close to eliminating the need to towel dry. HOWEVER, I will say that the towel didn't feel nearly as wet, and it took less effort and time to roll the grapes dry. So all the water droplets on the inner sides of the spinner bowl must've made a difference. 🤔Thankfully, rinsing/spinning the lettuce had a completely different outcome. There were still some small water droplets 💦 on the lettuce after spinning, but nowhere near how wet it is when not using it. On nights where I'm serving salad, there is no need to towel dry, just plate and serve. But for weekly food prepping, I go ahead and gently dab a cotton towel over the lettuce leaves to help prevent any possible sogginess longer term.All in all, I'll probably keep the spinner. The glass bowl appears high quality, substantial in weight and sturdiness, and can be used as a serving bowl for more than just salads. You can pour a bag of pretzels, chips, etc. for a gathering, use as a fruit bowl, serve yogurt parfaits, pasta or potato salad, etc. Plus, borosilicate glass is lead-free and cadmium-free, which is important to me as an ovarian cancer survivor.
